One of my all time favorite people. I went to OLCHS in the early eighties. As a dean, he would get you out of whatever trouble you were in if you could take him down wrestling. Well I tried, but he was so damn strong there was no chance of anyone getting out of their trouble. It was always a point of personal pride that I realized I made it through his wrestling training sessions. You really can't imagine how tough this man was. Always a gentleman off the mat as well.

This video will never do Jim justice....Jim Craig educated my father, mother and uncle at Oak Lawn Community High School. The stories I hear of this man are mind-blowing.....He used to lay on the wrestling mat and let the entire varsity pile on him and he would get out, according to my father. My father later coached with Jim and he had so much respect for him that he only called him "Mr. Craig", to which he noticed. Jim later told my father, "you know you can call me Jim, right?"...My fathers response, "Okay, Mr. Craig.", Haha. Furthermore, Mr. Craig, in the archaic days of weightlifting, used to be the only one in the school to bench press the entire stack on the the machine. My uncle was so envious that he drew attraction to the sport and later competed for 15+ years. Jim was always very supportive of me during my wrestling career even though I wrestled against his teams. This man was a true champion whose name will be carried on for generations. May he rest easy. Thank you, Mr. Craig.

ryan Jim Craig was my great uncle (my Grandma’s brother.) I can’t say if he really let the whole varsity squad try to pin him but I knew him in his early to mid 60’s and he was a massive person with awe inspiring strength. I lightly wrestled with him once or twice and there was no chance. This video shows him at a much older age and just doesn’t show how muscular and large he was in his younger years.

I knew Coach Craig from working out at Xsport Fitness. I just knew him as Coach. We chatted every time that we saw each other. I returned to the gym a few months ago and noticed that I didn't see him. I got to thinking about him today and Googled "Long time wresting Coach + Shepard High." I didn't even know his name. I knew that he was respected by people in the gym who did know WHO he was. He was a great guy. I wish I had known when he passed. I would have gone to pay my respects. Rest In Peace, Coach. Thanks for all of your encouragement.

wow you claim you teach dive safety yet you let your kids leave their kits standing up unattended. At Shepard and everywhere else that's a no no and we're always reminded that all it takes is 1 bump to the kit to make it fall over and that could damage the tank which can cause injury and death if given the chance. Look up videos of what happens when a tank valve is damaged maybe then you'll be more careful ☺

How many times have you given to a charity like Salvation Army or Amvets, and wondered where the clothes went. Right here in our community, a teacher and the staff at Eisenhower are reaching out to kids in need. Psychologist Abraham Maslow discussed how one learns. He stated, and educators can attest, that learning is more likely to occur when one's physiological needs are met. Who cares why they need, the fact is that they do need. Winter coats, scarves, boots, and gloves are of utmost importance right now.
